SYNOPSIS

Tucked away in a neighborhood forgotten by time, across the street from an ancient cemetery, looms The Netherland-- a converted grand hotel that ghost hunters have dubbed “America’s Most-Haunted Apartment Building.” Built long ago (allegedly) on the site of an enchanted spring discovered by early Dutch settlers, the place resembles a slummy version of manhattan's legendary Chelsea Hotel and has been in the Van Moon family for generations. Now carved up into cheap short-term rentals, a decaying husk of its former glory, the hotel is home to the mysterious Luna Van Moon. Our heroine shares the crumbling penthouse with her shut-in mother, her impish little brother Audley, and her loopy grandfather, the building’s absent-minded landlord.

The series begins with the arrival of the newly-hired building manager Grisel Palacios and her daughter Pichi who soon discover that the Van Moons are not what they appear. Trapped for all eternity as the result of an ancient spell, Luna and her family are cursed to defend The Netherland, which is secretly a fortress, refuge and point of convergence for OUT OF TOWNERS: beings, demigods, magical creatures on their way to other worlds.

Each episode revolves around a specific tenant or guest of the hotel who presents a mystery or a problem to solve. This is interwoven with the larger Van Moon family story arc or the discovery of a jaw-dropping secret about the hotel (secret floors, underground tunnels etc). Additional tension comes about through subplots dealing with Pichi’s  “normie” life at the elite Sovereign Heart Academy where she tries to cover up all the supernatural shenanigans from her "muggle" classmates.
